About the Guests:

Christie Lind

Director of Strategic Initiatives | The Mississauga Food Bank | She/Her

Christie made the move into the non-profit sector in 2020 after working for 10 years in marketing and food & beverage in New York City. She is driven by the inequities she has witnessed between her corporate career and her community, where she developed a passion for addressing food insecurity. As Director of Strategic Initiatives at The Mississauga Food Bank, she is involved in interdepartmental projects to improve the reach and effectiveness of the food bank's efforts to create a Mississauga where no one goes hungry, including advocacy work through government relations and civic engagement.

In addition to her love for the nonprofit sector, she loves long-distance running, all the Marvel content, sharing baked goods, and exploring her new city with her wife, Sonya.

Daphna Nussbaum

Project Coordinator and Analyst | Peel Alliance to End Homelessness | She/Her

Daphna is the Program Coordinator and Analyst for the Peel Alliance to End Homelessness, where she works with service providers and other community partners to advocate for deeply affordable housing and an end to homelessness in Peel Region. 

 

Mya Moniz

Peer Support Leader | REST Centres She/Her

Mya is an independent youth and Former Crown Ward of the Peel Children’s Aid Society. She’s achieved an Honours Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction from the University of Toronto in English, Professional Writing and Communications, and Sociology. She also sits at the Senior Leadership Table for the Peel Alliance to End Homelessness as a youth with lived experience.

Mya believes there is great power in healing, growth, and catharsis through writing and storytelling, and she strives to help others tell their stories the way she tells hers.
